The Centre SÈVE is an inter-institutional research center in plant science, funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT) through its Strategic Clusters Program. The Centre, founded in 2004, brings together over sixty researchers from several Quebec universities, as well as from governmental and private sectors, and nearly 250 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
The expertise of the Centre SÈVE researchers covers a wide range of fields in non-forestry plant production for food, environmental and industrial purposes. The Centre SÈVE mobilizes an exceptional multidisciplinary research network. It offers its students and AgroPhytoSciences trainees an innovative environment conducive to high quality research and training opportunities. Moreover, contributing to the training of highly qualified personnel is central to the Centre SÈVE mission in order to develop the plant production sector in Quebec and to meet the needs of a changing job market.
